LG POLLS: Egbo calls for unity amongst PDP faithful

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate for Ughelli North Local Government chairmanship election, Olorogun Jaro Egbo has called for unity amongst members of the party ahead of the July 13th Local Government elections in the Delta State.

Egbo made the call, Sunday, while addressing members of the Ughelli North Local Government Political Appointees Forum, at Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Chairmanship hopeful, who is also the chairman of the forum, they were initially in support of Ughelli North Constituency I to produce the chairmanship candidate of the party until it’s leadership at the state in their wisdom decided to allow Constituency II take another shot at it.

He said, “we gave all the aspirants from Constituency I, which is supposed to produce the chairman, Constituency II having done two tenure our own support and encouragement but the leadership of the party at the state felt otherwise and decided to allow Constituency II to take another shot, just one shot.

“I was humbly adopted to fly the flag of our party. So I want to thank our leaders, our elders and our members who cooperated, because if when my name was mentioned you did not agree then it would not work.

“Secondly I also want to thank our people in our various wards who harkened to the voice of our leaders to remain in their wards. There is no small ward or big ward, if there were, Bayelsa won’t be a state. As for those who didn’t make it, or those whose prodigies couldn’t make the councilorship, I want to assure you that we will carry everybody along to ensure that our council moves forward.

“I want to call all of us to work for the success of the party in the July 13th elections. Before long we will set up the campaign council of the LGA. We will go round the 20 states wards to sell the programme of our party.”
