Relief as hundreds receive free medical care at Ubulu-Uku during Aniocha South’s medical outreach flag off

A mammoth crowd of Ubulu-Uku residents comprising of youths and the elderly on Monday thronged Abuedo Primary School to access the free medical care provided by the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike.

Recall that Chukwunwike had earlier in a statement said that the outreach which commenced August 7 and ends August 13 is in line with his administration’s determination to better the lot of the people through an effective Public Private Partnership structure (PPP).

“Health, they say, is wealth. As a government, we realize it is not enough for us to invest in infrastructural projects alone. Although, we are doing our best in the area of infrastructure but part of the legacies that this administration wants to be remembered for is the provision of rare opportunity for medical solutions of our people”, the council chairman said.

Through the outreach that is expected to spread across Ubulu-Uku, Ubulu-Unor and Ubulu-Okiti, residents will get free health talks and counseling; deworming; blood pressure check; blood sugar check; other laboratory services; general body check and free medications.

The majority leader of Aniocha South Sixth Legislative Arm, and Ward 5 Councilor, Hon. Patrick Maduemezie said that over 200 beneficiaries have been recorded so far.

“The chairman has done our people proud. This outreach has offered the people treatment for ailments that they have been carrying for years without the resources to visit a hospital”, Maduemezie added.
