Asaba–In the pursuit of daily living, many people often forget the saying that “health is wealth”, that no matter how much money that one has, without good health, the money is worthless. And like money, you do not know the value of health until you lose it.
It is on this premise that the Director General(DG) of delta state orientation bureau,Barr. Eugene Azuka Uzum, advised Deltans to stay healthy by having their health regularly checked.
Barr. Uzum stated that a check up is important because it could detect a life-threatening disease like heart condition, enabling treatment to commence early before it becomes fatal.
Uzum added that in a routine check-up, the health care provider like the Doctor gets to listen to your heart, lungs, and other vital organs and will likely check weight and other vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and the body mass index(BMI).
He pointed out that during the regular check up also, various tests like widal, malaria parasite (MP), sugar level, cholesterol,H-pylori,e.t.c, can be carried out to ascertain the health status of an individual while medical advises from the health care providers can be given out based on results obtained not excluding their eating habits.
Concluding, the orientation boss called on all Deltans to key into the health insurance scheme of the state and avail themselves the opportunity of the efficient and effective use of the health facilities being provided by the Okowa led administration which is taking health care delivery services to every nook and cranny of the state through the Delta State contributory health insurance scheme, and encouraged Deltans to all have the mindset of keeping their environment clean to prevent possible outbreak of diseases in our society, and plead with all stakeholders to keep their hands on deck in building Cleaner environment in Delta State.
