THE SENSITIZATION CAMPAIGN ON CULTISM, AND DRUG ABUSE ACROSS SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN DELTA STATE

The team of sensitization headed by Barr. Eugene Uzum, DG Bureau for Orientation Delta State commenced the sensitization on the 8th of February 2021 to 26th of February 2021.

The sensitization was for Ninety selected secondary schools across the three senatorial district of Delta State.

Objective of sensitization

  • Eradication of cultism across the secondary schools in the whole of delta state.
  • Teach the students on the dangers of cultism alcohol and drug abuse

The DG of Orientation Bureau Delta State, during the period of sensitization talked at length on the dangers of cultism and drug abuse.

While addressing the students he cited many public figures in the society who have made it in life without the help of cultism.

He admonished them to shy away from cultism, he told the students to emulate the likes of Governor Okowa and many public personalities who have made it in life.

The sensitization program was attended by some members of the International Human Rights Commission, the SSA to the Governor on Security in Sapele, Pastor Omasan Mabiaku, two (2) CIE and several others.

Mrs Judith Wemembu lead the field workers to Delta Central and Delta South. Stressing her points, she made the students know that they cannot become anything great in life if they belong to any cult group.

Mr Ogheneyole during the period of sensitization made the students swear an oath and take a path with him that they will shun away from cultism, alcohol and drug abuse.

The students and principals of the visited schools welcomed the team of the sensitization with open hands.

The principal of Nana Model College in Warri has inaugurated the schools Anti Cult Club and the Ambassadors of the Anti-cult club of the school made a presentation when the Orientation team got to the school.
