Asaba–The Director General, Delta State Orientation Bureau (DSOB), Barr. Eugene Azuka Uzum has urged leaders to stay committed on building Hope and Faith in their followers.
Uzum, who spoke today during the Monday strategic session with the staff of the bureau in Asaba, noted that it is very pertinent for leaders to at all times feel the pulse of their followers.
He handed this down just after the weekly lecture from the Director, Finance and Accounts of the bureau, Mr Ngozi Uwajei, on “LEADERSHIP” who opined that leadership is one influencing another.
He further defined a leader as one who knows the way, shows the way, and goes the way. This he said implies that such a person must be strategic in thinking (i.e do the right thing).
The DFA listed the success ladder to leadership to include dreams, directions, drive, desire, and dependency.
In addition to the DFA’s assertion, the orientation boss noted that a follower in leadership understands the doctrines of constructive criticism, while also crowning the leader a helper.
In concluding the leadership talk by the DFA who earlier encouraged leaders not to be tired in aspiring for the desires that they admire, but to always refire by not retiring in getting their desirable end vis a vis, the need of enthroning followers in leadership positions.
Barr Uzum stressed that leaders should build confidence or trust that is not based on proof (Faith), and the optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation or desires (Hope) in their followers.
