Be Ascetic With Your Political Positions, Uzum Advise Politicians.

As the two days Strategic Executive Retreat for Senior Appointees in Delta State came to a closed on the 17th of October, 2019. The Director General of the State Orientation Bureau, Barrister Eugene Azuka Uzum has advised political office holders to be Ascetic with their positions.

Barrister Uzum gave the Advise during an interview with the press in Asaba.

Uzum noted that politicians must be devoted to the practice of self-denial or self- discipline through stringent abstinence.

Continuing, he said; ”Those is political leadership positions should be able to combine personal Spartan leanings with extant government policies to save for critical infrastructure delivery, they should have the mindset of successful outing in all they do, and shouldn’t be known for decilitating characters by those coming after them.”

He stressed that political office holders should be friendly always, give the workers under them an atmosphere for better understanding, productivity and performance, not be found wanting, but try to excercise virtues that will endure them to good records in history.

“Be a person that is indifferent to pleasure or pain(stoic) not epicurean, build a metaphorical Environment that will be pleasing to the eyes or mind.”

The orientation boss further added that political office holders should allow their convoy mentality to be in unism and not in variance to the people they are called to served by always turning actions in the building of a stronger Delta and by extension a better society.

An elated Uzum was optimistic that the Ascetic principles and practices will release souls from bondage to the body and permit a union with the Divine, and Humanity and the lifestyle also will be characterized by voluntary abstinence from various sorts of worldly pleasures such as accumulation of property and wealth live amongst all.
